This, of course, can lead to more sales of your services or products, and will keep your business thriving. However, if you notice that certain tactics work better than others when it comes to your blog writing, it’s best to “listen” to your customers. Consumers can tell you which methods work best, so that you can save time and money in your marketing efforts.
Lengthy Content
It’s important that your blog, as well as the content that you deliver to customers, is as concise as possible. You want the content to be engaging and interesting, but don’t fill your written marketing material with filler words and useless information. If you see that your readership is going down, it may be because customers don’t want to have to spend 5-10 minutes reading to get to the point of your post.
More Social Media Involvement
Of course, if one of your customers asks whether you have a Twitter, Instagram or Facebook account, it likely means that he/she wants to be able to follow you on social media. It’s also important to note that your social media presence can boost your professional reputation. Once you set up a social media account, make sure that you’re active often. It may also be a good idea to hire a social media professional or team to handle this aspect of marketing for you. Let your followers know about the services you offer, but don’t forget to engage in conversation with your customers on social media as well. Ask what you can do to improve your services, or use social media as a way to announce new products and services. Most importantly, when a customer asks a question on social media, be sure to answer as soon as possible with a friendly and professional response.
Too Many Emails
Most consumers these days are busy. That means they don’t have time to sort through thousands of emails to find messages from your company. If you inundate potential and long-time clients with emails, this could affect your overall sales, especially if your emails end up in their spam folder often. Instead of sending as many emails as you can, try marketing your emails on social media by announcing a monthly newsletter. This way, the people on your email list will know what to expect, and you can include important information about your company in one large message. In addition to the newsletter, you can also send out email coupons or savings codes a few times a quarter as a way to thank loyal customers and attract new clients.
Too Many Ads
In most cases, the ads that appear on your blog can bring in passive income for you. If you’re partnering with other businesses who are advertising on your blog or website, you’re building healthy professional relationships that could help to move your business forward. However, too many ads can turn customers away. Remember, people come to your site to read more about what you have to offer, or to shop for your products/services. They’re not necessarily there to learn about other companies, or to feel pressured to buy additional items. If you see that your website or blog is getting less visitors, try rearranging the advertisements so that they don’t take over your page. You can also work with your partner companies to come up with smaller ads that are still eye-catching, but don’t appear too forceful. This way, people don’t feel obligated to spend more than they intended, and won’t be irritated by the ads that interrupt their reading time. If you add video content to your website, try to limit your advertising to one ad per video.

Finally, remember that while you don’t want to make your blog posts too long, you want to make sure you tell customers what they want to know. Your content should be easily sharable, which makes it easy for other interested consumers to get to know your company. Be sure to include keywords in your content as well, so that clients can search for your company-related content easily. It may also be helpful for you to include lists, pictures and short videos in your content to make your points easier to understand.
